Anthony Martial scored Manchester United’s 1000th goal in the Premier
League era at Old Trafford in the
win against Everton on Sunday. United are the first team to achieve this feat in the Premier League era. With this goal, Martial has entered a unique list of players who have scored landmark goals at Old Trafford. Surprisingly there have been only 51 different goals scorers at Old Trafford for Manchester United.
PL goals at OT:
1 Irwin
100 Cantona
200 Scholes
300 Cole
400 Solskjaer
500 Giggs
600 Solskjaer
700 CR7
800 Rooney
900 Kagawa
1000 Martial
In the above list all the players are regarded as United legends except for Kagawa and Martial himself who is just one year into his Man United career. The way Martial started his career at Old Trafford by scoring a stunning goal against arch rivals Liverpool on his debut, he is well on his way to become a United legend. Unless injuries disrupt Martial’s progress, United have found a gem of a player who can lead their team for the next decade at least. United are back in contention for the fourth spot after their win over Everton moving to just one point behind Manchester City.
