Barcelona set to rival Manchester United with huge £78m deal

BARCELONA are set to agree a big-money deal with Nike to rival Manchester United's £75million adidas contract, according to reports.

Spanish newspaper AS Diario claim Barca will earn £78m a season from the deal with the American sportswear giants.
The report claims the club is currently locked in talks as they seek to improve their current £27m-a-year contract.
It's said they are hoping to rival United and Real Madrid's recent big-money sponsorship deals after they moved to German firm adidas.
Barca and Paris Saint-Germain are Nike's two biggest remaining clients, after Real, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Chelsea all jumped ship.
And it's understood they will use this as leverage in negotiations with nike in order to earn a deal that's financially competitive with their rivals.
The new terms will reportedly come into play when the current one expires in 2018, but the two parties are yet to agree the length of the sponsorship.
