Man Utd ready to fund record transfer, £300k-a-week deal agreed

Louis van Gaal has revealed his delight at seeing the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City all drop Premier League points this midweek.

Van Gaal watched his Manchester United side continue their recent mini-resurgence by beating Watford 1-0 at Old Trafford to move level on points with Manchester City, who were beaten 3-0 by Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Arsenal also slipped up as they lost 2-1 to Swansea City at The Emirates, as Tottenham were beaten 1-0 by West Ham United.
And speaking after his side’s win at Old Trafford, Van Gaal admitted his delight at seeing some of United’s rivals slip up.
Van Gaal told his post-match news conference: “It’s fantastic.
“That’s the strength of the Premier League. It’s also nice as we lost at Sunderland and there was a lot of criticism at that time but the difference between teams is not that big.
“Everybody can lose to everybody.”
United, who are fifth in the table and level on points with fourth-placed City, now turn their attentions towards their Premier League clash with West Brom at The Hawthorns on Sunday.
