Guardiola’s three-year contract at Bayern expires at the end of the current campaign and he has not agreed a new deal leading to speculation he will move to a the Premier League.
He was recently reported as having given City his word that he will join them in the summer after telling the Etihad director of football Txiki Begiristain he is ready to take on the role.
Guardiola is thought to be open to a new challenge, while he has always stated his desire to move to England.
His intentions remain a mystery, though, even to those close to him. Bayern’s contract offer will help to flush out his intentions.
