Daniel Sturridge could be in line to return for Liverpool’s match with Manchester City after stepping up his
training, the Mirror report.
The England striker picked up a knee problem in training prior to the Tottenham game, which has since kept him out of action under new boss Jurgen Klopp.
It was initially thought he would be back immediately after the game but he hasn’t trained fully since.
But with it now the international break Sturridge is increasing his regime from running and kicking to sessions with the squad.
Klopp has not put a date on the player’s return but Sturridge has suggested via his Instagram account he could be back for the City match.
Sturridge only recently started his first game since April after a nightmare spell of injuries that dates back virtually a year.
He scored 22 league goals during the 2013/14 season when Liverpool finished runners-up with there still big questions over his long term fitness.
