Payet: Patrice Evra told me, before I moved to The Premier League

Payet added another stunner to his collection last Friday when he lit up the European Championships with an
incredible late winning goal against Romania, and he believes Evra was right when he said that the Premier League would improve him as a player.

Dimitri Payet completed five take-ons vs. Romania and was taken off to a standing ovation.

“Many players in the French squad play in the Premier League, or have played in the Premier League, so I knew about the level,” Payet told the Mirror.
“Patrice Evra told me that playing in England would take my game to a new level — and he was right. It is the most ­competitive league in the world — every game you have to fight for. There is no doubt I have become a better player there.”
