Louis van Gaal could be sacked by Manchester United this month if the Red Devils are knocked out of the FA Cup by West Ham United on Wednesday night, according to reports.
United are preparing to take on the Hammers in the replay of their quarter-final clash at Upton Park as they look to bounce back to winning ways after their 3-0 loss to Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.Van Gaal has found himself under increasing amounts of pressure in recent weeks following a below-par season for the Red Devils.
United are currently fifth in the Premier League and four points adrift of the top four and were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage back in December.
Van Gaal’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks, with Jose Mourinho having been touted as a possible replacement for the Dutchman at Old Trafford.
Now, the Daily Mirror is reporting that Van Gaal could be given his marching orders if his side fail to reach the FA Cup semi-finals this week.
United return to Premier League action with a home clash against Aston Villa on Saturday.
