DONALD LOVE admits he is out to repay Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
Ferguson handed the Scotland Under-21 international his first professional contract in 2013, shortly before retiring.
Love had to wait until this season to make his debut, featuring against Sunderland and FC Midtjylland last month.
And the 21-year-old, who spent time on loan at Wigan earlier in the season, hopes to thank Ferguson for his confidence by becoming established at Old Trafford.
"Sir Alex offered me my first professional contract so it’s a huge confidence boost when you get it from someone like him," Love said.
"I went into his office and he said he was offering me a contract. It was great for him to put his faith in me, he must have seen something in me.
"Now I want to repay him. I was at Northwich and his grandson was at Egerton and we used to play against each other.
"Brian McClair is a club legend at Manchester United. I’ve known him ever since I went to the Carrington Training Centre.
"When you are nine-years-old you are scared of someone like him who is a legend and you just look up to him.
"He had worked with the academy players for God knows how many years and that reflects just how good he is at his job."
