Fellaini escapes ban over elbow incident

Fellaini, 28, appeared to intentionally flick his elbow towards Can and caught the German international.

But a statement released by UEFA states that the Belgian international will not be charged and is free to play for United against Liverpool on Thursday, after referee Carlos Velasco Carballo didn’t include the incident in his match report.
So, Fellaini is free to play on but that doesn’t stop the pressure building on him. From his own fans.
The Belgian midfielder was jeered by his own supporters on Sunday as he was subbed out late in United’s 1-1 FA Cup quarterfinal draw with West Ham.
Louis Van Gaal has criticized United’s fans for their treatment of the former Everton star, but their frustration against him has been commonplace since he arrived in 2013 for $40 million. He has scored just nine times in 77 outings for United, and under LVG he’s been in and out of the team during the past two seasons.
Most would agree that Marouane is one lucky boy to escape any action, but many of United’s fans are saying they’d rather he was banned given his recent performances.
A harsh, but some could argue fair, evaluation.
