The true cost of sacking Jose Mourinho

CHELSEA would have to fork out an eye-watering £40m to sack Jose Mourinho, according to reports.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly meeting with the club's board today to decide whether to axe their boss.
Mourinho has already received a vote of confidence this season but with no signs of improvement his second reign at Stamford Bridge could be coming to an end.

His £250,000-a-week wages are the only thing keeping him in a job, the Daily Mail reports.
Following their 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Monday the champions sit a lowly 16th in the Premier League - just one point off the drop zone.
Abramovich has called Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Eugene Tenenbaum and Michael Emenalo into the meeting to decide if it's worth sacking the Portuguese and paying up his lucrative, long-term deal.

The Chelsea boss only signed a new four-year contract over the summer but the Mail say it includes a settlement cause.
If Abramovich decides to trigger the clause it would be the second time in eight years that he has forked out millions to sack the 52-year-old.
