Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has emerged as a surprise
transfer target for Real Madrid in
their search for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real’s president Florentino Perez is an admirer of the Dutchman, claims Spanish source Don Balon, despite the 21-year-old’s slow start to life at Old Trafford following a big-money move from PSV in the summer.
Depay looked a top talent during his time in the Eredivisie and is comparable to Ronaldo in his style of play, bringing pace, skill and a goal threat from out wide.
It has been suggested recently that it may be the Portugal international’s final season at the Bernabeu, which could spark some interest in bringing in Depay.
The report adds that United would likely demand around £64million for the 21-year-old’s services.
