Jose Mourinho is
expected to take over at Manchester United soon and according to reports
from the
English media, Manchester United laid the foundations of the move long ago when they paid Mourinho to reject other job offers.
The Premier League giants paid Mourinho a sum of 4 million pounds to reject all job offers and stay available for them. The Old Trafford hierarchy were still undecided about the future of Van Gaal and did not want to lose out on Mourinho if they needed a replacement.
Daily Mail are also claiming that Mourinho will sign a 5-year-contract at Old Trafford worth around 75 million pounds.
The report also states that Manchester United wanted to insert a
‘behavioural clause’ in his contract but Mourinho refused to accept it.
He has often been fined for his actions and comments in the Premier
League with Chelsea.
Mourinho should be officially presented as the Manchester United manager this week. Jorge Mendes is expected to fly into the United Kingdom from China tomorrow.
