Louis van Gaal has dropped a big hint that he plans to be in charge at Manchester United at the start of next season by talking openly about the club’s plans for their pre-season tour.
United are set for a summer trip to China as they begin their preparations for the 2016-17 campaign.Van Gaal has found himself under intense pressure at Old Trafford this season, with United currently one point adrift of the top four as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.
Jose Mourinho has been hotly tipped to be set to take over at Old Trafford this summer should Van Gaal leave United at the end of the season.
However, Van Gaal’s comments about the club’s pre-season tour appears to indicate that he is planning on staying in charge at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal told United’s website: “Every step that has been made, I was there.
“I have to decide [on the time away] and that is why we are only going for eight days, more or less six days. I have made it deliberately short as we will not be able to train over there due to the humidity.
“It is possible that we could train in the mornings and the evenings, but we will have to see.
“It is not ideal preparation especially after the European Championships, but the players I have will train ten days ahead of the tour so we will be ready for the games, and we will then resume training when we return.”
