Sunderland consider ending Emmanuel Eboue’s contract after FIFA ban

SAM Allardyce has got enough on his plate at Sunderland without finding out that a player who hasn’t
played has now been banned by FIFA for a year.
Big Sam signed former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue on a short-term deal after the Ivory Coast international had begun training with the Black Cats in February.
He has yet to make an appearance for Sunderland and, judging by today’s revelations, he probably never will as the club is considering terminating his contract.
Eboue, it has been announced, has been banned by the world’s governing body ‘from all football’ for a year….
…or until he settles an unpaid debt to a former agent!
Full back Eboue, who signed for Sunderland on a free transfer on March 9, was first ordered to pay the undisclosed amount in July 2013.
The player was fined 30,000 Swiss francs (£21,000) in September 2014 and given four months to settle the dispute.
“Mr Eboue was ordered to pay [in 2013] the players’ agent Mr Sebastien Boisseau an amount owed to him based on the representation agreement between the two parties,” FIFA said in a statement as reported on the BBC sport website – http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35933681
The Ivory Coast international spent eight seasons at Arsenal after arriving from Belgian side Beveren in 2004. He moved to Turkey in 2011, where he won three Super Lig titles and five domestic trophies.
Allardyce, who felt Eboue would add experience to the ranks for the crucial run-in, has pretty much seen it all during a long and eventful managerial career. But this one really takes the biscuit.
