Man United stunned as Liverpool make bid for £62m striker

MANCHESTER UNITED were left stunned after Liverpool tabled a bid for Napoli ace Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United interested in the striker.
Italian website Corriere Dello Sport claim the Red Devils are ready to splash out £62m to beat Chelsea to Higuain.
However, Liverpool have now entered the race and are bidding to sign the 28-year-old, according to Spanish website Fichajes.
The Reds will face competition from Paris St-Germain and Chelsea, who have also made offers to the former Real Madrid star.
Higuain is reportedly unhappy in Serie A and will wait until the end of the season to decide his future.
The former Real Madrid ace also was left fuming after Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claimed he needs to lose weight.
The striker has been in fine form this season, scoring 27 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Italian giants.
