It looks as though the Bianconeri will be able to count on Giorgio
Chiellini for next week’s crucial match with
the Bavarian giants.
Giorgio Chiellini looks set to be fit for next week’s Champions League second leg with Bayern Munich, after the Juventus defender made a successful return to training.
Requiring victory in Germany to advance, or a high-scoring draw, Massimiliano Allegri will be thrilled to have the 31-year-old available in Munich, giving him the option of a return to a 3-5-2 setup.
Chiellini got through Tuesday’s session comfortably, while the only absences were Martin Caceres – out for the season with an Achilles injury – and Paul Pogba who was given the day off, as Juve return to near full strength.
Allegri is unlikely to risk the Italian in their upcoming Serie A clash with Sassuolo, with Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli joined by Alex Sandro and Stephan Lichtsteiner in defence. Patrice Evra will be rested, while Pogba and Claudio Marchisio are also expected to be left out.
The Neroverdi were the last team to defeat the Bianconeri in the league, so while Allegri’s men will have an eye on next week’s clash at the Allianz Arena, they will be determined to exact revenge.
