Ex-Man Utd Striker: Forget Mourinho, This 42-Yr-Old "Will Be" Red Devils' Next Boss

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has urged to the club to appoint assistant coach Ryan
Giggs as their next manager, and insists it’s time for English football to give the “new generation” of managers a chance.
The former forward made 96 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils in a four-year spell at the club, scoring 48 goals in the process.
Current boss Louis van Gaal has come under increasing pressure at the Old Trafford outfit this term, having led the side through a disastrous Champions League campaign, where they were knocked out in the group stages.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are currently in sixth position in the Premier League, four points off a top-four spot.

As such, former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has been tipped with the potentially vacant hot-seat this summer (via BBC Sport), while Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc has also emerged as a contender (via talkSPORT), having led the French side to their fourth successive Ligue 1 title.
Yorke believes handing the baton to 42-year-old Giggs would be a better choice, and that the former midfielder could be forced out of the club if he doesn’t make the step up soon.

Speaking exclusively to 888sport, Yorke said: “I want to say this categorically. Giggs has been under the main man now for three years and you look at how football is changing.

“You’ll find now in the next five years there will be more young ex players managing football teams because there is a new generation of managers coming through.
“For Manchester United now there is no candidate out there. You have to accept that Jose Mourinho has been a great manager but if there is a change of manager at Manchester United and Van Gaal goes then it will be Ryan Giggs.
“If they don’t either this season or next season then Giggs won’t be around anymore because he has served his time. If he can’t make the step up after three years after seeing all he has seen then when? After 10? There is only one candidate. There is no question in my mind who should get the job.
“As soon as Van Gaal walks out of the door there is only one man who should have the job – Giggsy. Van Gaal has another couple of years then he’s done anyway. The circle is about to change.”

Giggs has previously taken charge at United for a run of four Premier League matches, after David Moyes was sacked in 2013/14.
His team averaged an exceptional 87% pass accuracy, whilst creating an average of 13 chances per game – both higher than the figured displayed by Van Gaal’s side this term.
