Premier League Team Of The Week 26: Chelsea and Liverpool Players Dominate

Matchday 26 of the English Premier League has wrapped up and what a gameweek it has been. The gameweek had plenty of surprises and heartbreaks for the fans.
We saw Chelsea and Liverpool winning emphatically against Newcastle United and Aston Villa respectively. Manchester United were upset by struggling Sunderland. Southampton won their sixth game in a row and again kept another clean sheet. Two big games took place on Sunday and all the top four clubs were involved. The title race took a whole new direction with Arsenal beating Leicester 2-1 thanks to a very late goal from Danny Welbeck coming on off the bench for the first time this season. Spurs kept their brilliant form with a 2-1 win against Manchester City.
Here is the team of the week from the gameweek 26 of the Premier League

Goalkeeper: Fraiser Forster
The Southampton shot-stopper has kept his sixth consecutive clean sheet and was amazing in their 0-1 win against Swansea. The England international has been pivotal for the Saints since his return from injury and won all the six games he featured in without conceding a single goal.

Right back: Nathaniel Clyne
The Liverpool right-back was brilliant against Aston Villa keeping a clean sheet and also scoring a goal in their 6-0 win.

Central defenders: Virgil van Dijk and Jonas Olsson
Southampton’s Dutch international defender van Dik kept another clean sheet for the Saints and was amazing against Swansea in their 0-1 win. Olsson, for West Brom, was brilliant against a performing Everton attack and kept a clean sheet despite the game being dominated by the Toffees. West Brom upset Everton 0-1 away from home and Olsson played a key role in their win.

Left back: Cesar Azpilicueta
The Spanish full-back was brilliant against Newcastle in their 5-1 win and made a good assist.

Central midfielders: Mousa Dembele and Gianelli Imbula
Imbula, Stoke’s most expensive player in history, made his mark at his new club with a stunning goal. He was brilliant for Stoke in midfield in their 1-3 win against Bournemouth. Dembele was brilliant against Manchester City in Spurs’ 1-2 win. He gave an outstanding all-round performance and dominated the midfield area.

Attacking midfielders: Pedro, Dimitri Payet and Philippe Coutinho
Pedro scored two goals for Chelsea against Newcastle in their 5-1 win against Newcastle. West Ham star Dimitri Payet’s dream debut season with the Hammers keeps going on as he scored one and provided another for West Ham to come back and draw against Norwich City. Philippe Coutinho made a comeback to the starting XI of Liverpool in the Premier League for the first time since his injury. He made 3 assists for the Reds and announce his comeback on style.

Striker: Diego Costa
Costa was brilliant against Newcastle in Chelsea’s 5-1 win and scored one goal. He also assisted one goal. Costa was a constant threat to Newcastle defence throughout the game and looked very sharp.
