Losing starting centre-backs Kurt Zouma and John Terry in back-to-back games is a huge blow to Chelsea and even the most optimistic fans must rule out any prayer of them lifting the biggest prize in European club cup competition this season. It’s difficult enough to see them shutting out PSG’s front three this evening. Branislav Ivanović has a lot of experience at centre-back but is he a top player in this position? No. Baba Rahman is very experience at the elite level. Gary Cahill has struggled this season.

Midfield: John Obi Mikel, Cesc Fàbregas, Willian, Oscar, Eden Hazard
Nemanja Matić’s suspension is a huge blow for Guus Hiddink, and the sale of Ramires last month means that John Obi Mikel is the only out-and-out holding midfielder available to the interim boss. We’ll see Cesc Fàbregas partnering the Nigerian in an attempt to stop Marco Verratti from dictating the game in the middle of the pitch for the home side. This could spell problems for the Blues. Willian should spend a lot of the time in his own half helping César Azpilicueta deal with Ángel Di María whilst Eden Hazard versus Gergory van der Wiel is probably the best matchup Chelsea have in attack.

Chelsea’s striker has been in good form
of late domestically but how many chances will he see versus France’s
best club? With David Luiz starting I guess there’s always a chance…
Here is the Chelsea team on paper:
