Chelsea skipper John Terry is refusing to be ruled out of tomorrow’s
Champions League clash with Paris
Saint-Germain, according to The Sun.
The veteran centre-back picked up a hamstring injury during Saturday evening’s win over Newcastle United and seemed certain to miss the last-16 first leg against PSG.
But Terry has not yet given up on being involved.
The report claims scans showed there is no tear to his muscle, despite the former England captain being forced off in the first-half against the Magpies.
Terry, aged 35, will continue to undergo treatment and have his fitness monitored today before interim manager Guus Hiddink and his squad fly to the French capital later today to prepare for the game.
He is prepared to go down to the wire to see if he has any chance of being involved.
If he is ruled out, and with Kurt Zouma already missing through his serious knee injury, Gary Cahill is likely to be partnered by Branislav Ivanovic at the heart of defence.
That would see Cesar Azpilicueta move to right-back and Baba Rahman start at left-back.
Inexperienced January signing Matt Miazga, who joined from New York Red Bulls, would appear to be next in line to play at centre-back.
