According to The Independent this evening, Swansea City are looking at poaching Ryan Giggs
from Manchester United.
Mark Ogden of The Independent has today claimed that Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has Ryan Giggs on his shortlist to take over as manager of the Welsh club.
Swansea sacked manager Garry Monk yesterday after a run of poor results had left them in 15th position in the league table. Initial reports had suggested that Brendan Rodgers was the favourite to replace the departed Monk with some also claiming that former United manager David Moyes was also in contention.
However, according to The Independent, the Swans have their eye on a target much closer to Old Trafford at present as they are looking to speak with the Red Devils’ assistant manager Ryan Giggs.
Although Giggs does not have any significant experience as a head coach, he did manage Manchester United on a temporary basis after the departure of David Moyes in 2014.
It is also believed that Giggs would implement a positive exciting brand of football that Swansea chairman Jenkins feels would suit the club.

Huw Jenkins, is open-minded about potential appointments, but the prospect of luring Giggs to Swansea would be regarded as a major coup and would also fit the Jenkins blueprint of hiring emerging coaches who favour attacking football.
Persuading Giggs to leave United would be a challenge, but the prospect of a move into management in the Premier League with a club regarded as being a well-run, forward-thinking operation could yet pave the way for Swansea to be successful.
