Manchester United: LvG one defeat from the sack?

It may sound sensationalistic. But we feel that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could be just one
game from the sack.
Because, imagine if you will, Manchester United losing to Norwich at the weekend.
The Canaries are now in the bottom three and struggling at both ends of the park. They have only scored 18 and conceded 28 goals this season.
But with morale at a season low after humbling defeats to Wolfsburg and Bournemouth, even a seemingly straightforward game at Old Trafford now looks fraught with danger for United.
And if Louis van Gaal can’t mastermind a convincing victory here, injuries or no injuries, then serious and immediate questions will have to be asked about his future at the club.
Because we already get the sense that the Manchester United boss is losing the support of the players and, when this happens, managers are usually beyond the point of no return.
The logistics of sacking Louis mid-season may seem prohibitive – Manchester United may find their choices several limited if they try to bring in a new boss mid-season.
But they do have what many would consider to be the perfect manager in waiting in the shape of Ryan Giggs. How he would love to take the reins at this point of the season and see what he can do with his beloved club.
Would we give him the top job at United right now? Absolutely. Manchester United’s form can’t get much worse than this and at least Giggs would get the players facing the opposition goal once more instead of interminably noodling about with the ball in their own half.
Something has to change at Manchester United. Louis needs six positive results in a row otherwise it’s difficult to see him staying on beyond the end of this season.
And a defeat against Norwich this weekend could bring his tenure to a much more abrupt ending.
Manchester United fans: LvG or Giggs?
