Manchester United Edge Closer To Guardiola Appointment

 According to the Sun, United chiefs are confident that a deal can be agreed for the former Barcelona
manager to take over at the club and that they are close to completing a deal.

Guardiola is out of contract at Bayern Munich at the end of the season and has yet to commit himself to a new deal, leaving the door open for a number of Premier League clubs to battle it out for his managerial ability.

Bitter rivals Manchester City are known to be keeping tabs on the 44-year-old, and the article claims that his future will be made clear this week which could see United land Guardiola.

Van Gaal has come under heavy fire at Old Trafford after a number of poor performances that has seen the club dumped out of the Champions League and fall four points behind current league leaders Arsenal.

It is believed that United are confident they can strike a deal for Guardiola, who would have full confidence in his ability to turn the club around and make them serious title contenders once again.
