Man Utd in initial talks with sacked Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho

Manchester United have made initial contact with Jose Mourinho’s representatives to sound him out about
becoming their new manager, according to Portuguese newspaper Diario Noticias.
The article points to interest in Mourinho from Serie A sides Roma and AC Milan, but indicates that United are the frontrunners to land the recently sacked Chelsea manager.
Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes is said to have a friendship with United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward. And the publication claims there is a desire within the Old Trafford hierarchy to bring Mourinho to the club.
With all parties seemingly interested and current manager Louis van Gaal’s situation looking increasingly precarious after the defeat to Norwich City last Saturday, contact has reportedly been made between the Red Devils and Mourinho’s camp.
The report claims there is still some way to go before an agreement is reached or an appointment made, but suggests that Mourinho to United currently looks like the most outcome at the moment.
