Man Utd Injury Boost: Shaw Enters Next Stage Of His Recovery, Progress...

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has returned to the club’s Carrington training ground as
he steps up his recovery from injury, as per Goal.
The left-back is expected to miss the majority of the remainder of the campaign after suffering a double leg fracture during the club’s Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven last month.

However, the aforementioned source explains that club medical staff are sufficiently pleased with the progress Shaw has made, enough to have invited the player back to Carrington.
There, Shaw enters the next phase of his recovery, Goal writes, through use of United’s state-of-the-art physiotherapy facilities. Said facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, in which using an aquatic treadmill Shaw will be able to train with reduced pressure exerted to prevent wastage in the muscles of his lower limbs through lack of use.
The injury raised serious doubts about whether Shaw, who has been capped by England on six occasions, will be able to feature for his country at Euro 2016 next summer.
The 20-year-old has been identified by England manager Roy Hodgson as the country’s future left-back and the starlet had been in impressive form for United before suffering the injury.
In Shaw’s absence United manager Louis van Gaal has been assessing his options at left-back. Ashley Young featured there briefly despite usually being a winger, whilst Matteo Darmian, who is usually deployed in the opposite full-back berth, has also been touted as a possible replacement whilst Shaw is out.
Dutchman Daley Blind is another option in that position, but Argentinean defender Marcos Rojo will be hopeful of establishing himself at left-back during Shaw’s absence. Rojo struggled earlier this campaign, but was one of United’s most impressive performers against Manchester City as he helped to shackle Kevin de Bruyne.
Rojo has won just 39% of his overall duels for United this season, which is a rather low figure, but he has been successful in all five of his headed duels, emphasising his dominance in the air.
The defender’s distribution requires some work, however. He has a passing accuracy of 83%, the lowest of all of United’s defenders in the Premier League this season.
