Brendan Rodgers enters race to replace Jose Mourinho at Chelsea

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is believed to have entered the frame to replace Jose Mourinho as Chelsea boss as pressure continues to mount on his position, according to the Metro.

The defending Premier League champions have endured a torrid start to the current campaign, with rumours growing that Mourinho may be relieved of his post should Chelsea lose to Liverpool at the weekend (via Metro).
The Metro claim that a host of huge names have already been touted as possible replacements, but a report in the Belfast Telegraph states that Rodgers has since emerged as a serious contender.
Rodgers was relieved of his own duties at Anfield earlier this month, but due to his strong connections with Chelsea, having already worked for their youth team, his name is being mentioned as a viable option to take over from Mourinho (via Metro).
The Metro report that bookies have slashed their odds on Rodgers taking the Stamford Bridge hot seat from 20/1 to 7/1 over the past week, making him one of the favourites to take over should the job become available.
